Abstract
At this stage in IPv4 exhaustion with the global pool depleted, adoption and deployment of IPv6 across the Asia Pacific region is of the utmost importance for the stability and growth of the Internet.
At the same time, it is important to understand the interoperability of these two protocols to work together seamlessly. Currently, IPv4 still dominates the majority of Internet traffic, however; IPv6 is making steady progress. A complete replacement of IPv4 by IPv6 will take quite some time. Until then, a number of transition mechanisms allow IPv6-only compatible hosts to access services offered by IPv4 protocol.
Recognizing the importance of IPv6 interoperability with the existing IT infrastructure, this plenary will provide participants an opportunity to discuss transition mechanisms experienced by the panel members.
