There have been many discussions about IPv4 over IPv6 techniques for long time at some working groups in IETF. However, fine solutions are being engendered as deliverables of discussions. e.g. DS-Lite, 464XLAT, MAP-E, and MAP-T.

Choosing appropriate solution for operating resource and organization form in each ISP is very significant matter. This correct choice will put out efficiently deploying IPv6 network and solving IPv4 address exhaustion.

This presentation will provide the introduction of some IPv4 over IPv6 techniques and some use cases.

At JANOG30, softwire technology was a hot topic.

- Many vendors supported 4rd
- But 4rd already obsolete and standard process delayed
- Application tested also not completed.

JANOG decided to make Softwire WG to improve this issue. The presentation will share MAP-E implementation report and activity of JANOG Softwire WG to APRICOT participants.

IPv4 has run out and we urge for IPv6 adoption and transition. The ball of IPv6 is running and many networks and applications are fully aware of the new protocol, however many other commercial and in-house software developments and applications may not run correctly. In this presentation we talk about the importance of software testing to guarantee a successful transition to IPv6 and to ensure that applications will run without problems. The presentation also show a methodology to test the compatibility of software with IPv6. This methodology is the result of merging Software Testing concepts and our IPv6 experience and it has help us to test our applications and to guarantee that they will work on IPv6.
