DNSSEC Summit

Building a Road Map for DNSSEC Deployment

February 21, 2005

The goal of this workshop is to build a road map and identify difficulties that have to be overcome for widely deploying the Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC). This workshop will be held in conjunction with the APRICOT meeting. This meeting is a follow-on to similar meetings in May 2004 adjacent to the RIPE meeting in Amsterdam and the NANOG meeting in Reston, Virginia, USA.

In this workshop, there will be a mixture of short presentations and extended discussions to examine the current DNSSEC architecture and to discuss key deployment issues. The expected outputs from this workshops are

  • Useful critique of the road map

  • Understanding and buy-in from key people and organizations

  • Beginnings of some clarity on specific DNSSEC deployment issues and identification of other issues that need attention

  • Formation of small groups to focus attention on these issues

The workshop is open and free, but we request that you register so we can get a reasonable estimate for the number of attendees. This is a community-based, international effort. These workshops are organized with the support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology, and ICANN. Additional sponsors are expected from other countries.
