Integrating IP Wireless Sensor Networks
Grossetete Patrick, ArchRock

Abstract:

Wireless sensors are the next generation of devices to get attached to the Internet. At this time, the industry is on an inflection point for IP technology integration and deployment of Wireless Sensor Networks. Developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), 6LoWPAN (RFC 4944, IPv6 over Low power WPAN) defines how to run IPv6 over IEEE 802.15.4 low-power radio infrastructures.

This session will introduce Wireless sensors networks concepts then continues with an overview of IEEE 802.1.5.4 and 6LoWPAN technologies to an audience familiar with IPv6 basics. To conclude, indoor and outdoor deployment cases will be presented, including lessons learned.
